My Seasonal Style Edit: Fabulous Looks for Every Festive Occasion

It’s that magical time of year again! The lights are twinkling, the bubbly’s flowing and we’re all thinking about how to look (and feel!) our most fabulous while celebrating with the people we love.

With a calendar full of events, from cosy family dinners to work nights out, choosing the right outfit can feel overwhelming. You want to look stylish, feel comfortable and be perfectly dressed for the occasion. That’s why I’ve put together this Seasonal Style Edit to inspire your festive fashion choices, no matter the celebration.

💃 Girls’ Night Out / Date Night

We all know the “jeans and a nice top” formula but at this time of year, let’s upgrade it. Swap your classic denim for leather, pleather, or coated jeans. They’re trending, flattering and more stylish than your everyday jeans! Pair them with a sequin top, a sleek leather jacket and statement boots. Think sparkle meets sophistication. Add bold earrings or a clutch with metallic accents to complete the look.

🥂 House Drinks Party

Drinks parties can be tricky, especially when the invite says, “just come as you are.” No dress code is almost more difficult than a strict dress code! The key is to strike a balance between relaxed and refined. A pair of smart trousers and a fabulous blouse will see you through all these occasions. Add a hint of gold (think metallic boots or accessories) for festive flair. And don’t forget a shoulder-strap bag to keep your hands free for bubbly and nibbles!

Top tip: Always wear great socks, in case your host requests no shoes in the house!

🌟 Christmas or New Year’s Eve Party

Time to sparkle! Whether you go all-out with sequins or keep it subtle with accessories, this is absolutely your moment for glamour and to look and feel truly fabulous! A sparkly dress is always a winner. I love gold, silver or deep emerald green at this time of year. If you prefer understated elegance, elevate a classic black dress with statement jewellery and metallic heels. Balance is key: if your dress dazzles, keep accessories minimal.

If you’ve ever wondered how to elevate your little black dress, last month’s blog, HERE, is a must-read, it’s brimming with chic styling secrets and effortless tips to help you wear it with confidence and flair. I also show you how to wear black even if it’s not in your colour palette.

🎄 Christmas Day

Are you Team Glam or Team Cosy? Either way it’s fun to wear something with a bit of festive bling! My best suggestion? A versatile skirt that works dressed up with a velvet top and jewellery or dressed down with a festive knit and trainers. Add a touch of sparkle with earrings or a brooch and you’ll look stylish but with plenty of room for pudding!

🎬 Boxing Day

The day of leftovers, long walks and lounging. Heading out? Wrap up in a bright, cosy scarf to keep the festive mood alive. Pair with a chunky knit jumper, jeans and boots then return home for hot chocolate and sofa snuggles. Simple yet forever stylish!

☁️ Duvet Day

One of my favourite days! We all need a recharge day every now and then, especially at this busy time of year. Treat yourself to new pair of pyjamas or a plush onesie and embrace the comfort. Add snuggly slippers, skip the makeup and let your skin breathe. Whether you're binge-watching festive films or catching up on sleep, comfort is key.

🌅 New Year’s Day Chill

Ease into the new year with calm and comfort. A soft leisure set in a neutral or pastel tone is perfect for relaxing, reflecting or heading out for a gentle stroll. Style with cute trainers and a light jacket for a coordinated, cosy look that still feels festive.

🛍️ Christmas Shopping / New Year Sales

Shopping during the festive season is practically a sport. One minute you’re freezing outside, the next you’re roasting indoors. My advice? Try a layered look. Start with a cashmere jumper, add a scarf and finish with a light coat or gilet that’s easy to carry, keeps you warm but is easily adaptable. Add a crossbody bag, colourful gloves and a stylish hat for a look that’s practical yet polished!

👢 Finishing Touches

Boots: Metallic boots are the unsung heroes of the season. Dress them up with a skirt or down with jeans, they instantly add a festive twist and a modern edge.

Accessories: Never underestimate the power of sparkle! A glittery clutch, bold earrings or a statement necklace can transform any outfit from day to night. After all, if you can’t go all out at Christmas, when can you?
